Whitebox linux is a open distribution aimed at being a drop-in replacement for Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Since Redhat is pretty much out of the free-distro business now (RH 9 support was recently dropped), Whitebox picks up where RH leaves off. http://whiteboxlinux.org/
