May 2004 Meeting

Describe May 2004 Meeting here.

John D. brought a hard disk in a removable tray and replaced the hard drive in one of the club's computers. This allows development and/or presentations to be done at home and then just the drive brought in. Thanks, John

The presentation at the June meeting was on Linux for everyday use. John Clements brought his PC with Fedora Core Release 1 operating system. Programs demonstrated were: Open Office for word processing, spreadsheet, presentations and drawing; Mozilla Firefox web browser; Pan for newsgroup reading; and Ximian Evolution for email, calendar, contacts, etc. John has transitioned his main home computer to Linux. Like most of us, he still maintains a Microsoft operating system commputer to run some programs that do not run directly on Linux.
