John Dumic presented a demonstration of Kiosk mode and Red Hat 9. John has installed a Mac OS X theme and a Windows XP theme, both very smooth and colorful. John detailed how to set up RH 9 for these themes and tweaking the desktop.

A member brought in a small 'book' sized PC. Details: It contains a VIA company motherboard with the mini-ITX form factor which is 170 mm X 170 mm. Motherboard has on board sound, video, USB, Ethernet, serial, parallel. This board's speed is 500 MHZ, which requires no CPU fan. miniitx Case is Casetronic model 2699, which has space for slim CD, 3.5" hard drive and floppy. Case has 12 volt input and power inverter to supply ATX voltages for the board. External 'brick' converts 115 volts to 12 volts. This motherboard consumes 5 watts. Board has space for 2 PC 133 RAM. PC runs Red Hat 9. JCC
