March 2003 meeting summary

John Dumic began setting up a cclug PC for a general purpose rollaround workstation. The hardware is a AMD k6-2 400mhz cpu, 128 mb edo ram, hda = 15gb, hdb = 6gb, video = Voo Doo 3 16mb, nic and a modem. John installed Redhat 8.0, created a user named kiosk and began the kiosk demo setup in the kiosk user home.

Workstation plans include making it a network server(samba, etc)with a wireless setup.

We also took a look at some of the new features in Redhat's latest beta.

Terrence donated a nice 17" monitor to the club, it will go nicely with our new workstation, thanks Terrence.
